  2. I went through the physiology because it, that was 
  3. something solid to rest any theory, any 
  4. observation on. Once I had done, it was like 
  5. Picasso‚Äôs Blue Period, you know. I learned to paint 
  6. and I could go on and do what I wanted with 
  7. painting. But until then, until I had done this, I 
  8. would not have been satisfied myself to simply talk 
  9. McLuhanism. And sort of get away with it. That is 
  10. intellectually dishonest, and I wouldn‚Äôt do that. But 
  11. I thought it was a proper way of using my own 
  12. resources to continue McLuhan‚Äôs work and to do 
  13. this.
